Cartoon Saturday

Forget the "birthers" who won't believe President Obama is really an American citizen - now we have "deathers" who won't believe Osama bin Laden is now a citizen of Hell; al Qaeda has admitted that Osama bin Laden is dead and has, predictably, vowed revenge; severe flooding continues to threaten the American midwest and south, as if the recent outbreak of tornadoes wasn't enough; the last known survivor of combat in World War I has died in Australia at the age of 110; and in Yemen, a missile fired from a drone has apparently missed killing radical cleric Anwar al-Alawki.

It's been a long week, but at least you've earned Cartoon Saturday.

You've gotta love the march of technology...but you still can't beat a good book ...

Were things really so different back in Ancient Egypt ... ?

This is another one of those cartoons that's predictable...but that I've never seen a good take on before ...

Aren't you glad it's gotten easy to update your calendars? ...

Conspiracy theorists. You just can't win ...

If Republicans think that clean air regulations are bad, why don't they object to air conditioning? Inquiring minds want to know ...

It's been a long time since I went to a prom, but I have a feeling times have changed a bit in terms of expected attire ...

Osama finally arrives at Ground Zero ... hope he's enjoying all those virgins ...

I just thought this one marvelously combined predictable, silly, and very funny ...

And finally, you may want to think twice before voting that straight Republican ticket in 2012 ...

It looks as if it's going to be a good weekend. We get to visit the local grandchildren this afternoon, the weather looks as if it will be nice, and tomorrow is Mothers' Day. If you haven't posted that picture of your mom as your Facebook profile picture for the weekend in her honor, now would be a good time to do it.

Now, get out there and enjoy Spring!

Have a good day. More thoughts tomorrow.

Love the mummy buried in red tape! Thanks for another great Cartoon Saturday. I always look forward to it and during the week try to guess if ones I read will make the cut.

Enjoy your day!

Enjoyed them all.

PS You'd be surprised at how traditional the kids become when they dress for prom. It used to bring me such smiles when I saw the 'roughest' of kids all decked out!
