The Right-Cheek Ass Clown for December, 2015

We have arrived at the final month of the year - the month of December, the month of Peace on Earth and Good Will Toward Men. Well, that's what it's supposed to be, anyway. Thanks to the enormous number of ass clowns around the world, peace and good will are in short supply this year.

Since it's a new month, that means it's time to select the first of our two monthly winners - the ass clown who, by reason of surpassing excellence in odious buffoonery, has risen above the churning mass of contenders to earn the designation of

Right Cheek Ass Clown
for
December, 2015

and the group award goes to

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

At a time when refugees are streaming out of Syria and seeking refuge in any country that will take them in, Germany has stepped up to the plate and taken in - at enormous economic and social cost - tens of thousands of destitute refugees. However, the wealthy Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the self-styled leader of the Arab world and self-appointed guardian of the primary Islamic holy sites, has turned its back on the refugees ... it has not taken in a single person. Not one. However, it has made the grand and sweeping gesture of offering to build mosques all over Germany to service the refugees taken in by a better and more generous land.

Such generosity is overwhelming.

The Saudis have plenty of money to build the world's tallest building and support a huge and indolent royal family, but none to spend on their fellow Arabs and coreligionists. Saudi Arabia claims to have taken in thousands of Syrians, but as a BBC report from September of this year documents, it has taken them in only as visitors or temporary workers ... it is all but impossible to get into Saudi Arabia or the wealthy Gulf States as a refugee.

The Saudis have built an enormous city of air conditioned tents capable of housing hundreds of thousands of people making their pilgrimage to Mecca, and the tents stand empty for all but the few weeks of the hajj each year. Not one single refugee has been taken in and housed in these tents.

In recognition of its greed, hypocrisy, and shameful contribution to the suffering and death of refugees fleeing Syria, Iraq, and other Mideast garden spots, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its king, Salman, are presented with the group award for Right Cheek Ass Clown for December, 2015.

They can wear it around their necks when they one day explain to Allah why they turned their backs on those who needed their help, and grandly allowed the infidel west to do their job for them.

Have a good day. Heap scorn on a Saudi today ... he's earned it.

Come back tomorrow for Cartoon Saturday. More thoughts then.

P.S. - Since we are now in the last month of the year, it's time to start the voting for our Ass Clown of the Year for 2015. As usual, Chicago Rules voting applies - you may vote as often as you want, for as many candidates as you want. You may cast votes on behalf of yourself, your family, your relatives (living and dead), your pets, your pets' families, and anyone else you can think of. Don't worry about it - the GOP is certain you're doing it anyhow, so no harm done.

You may vote for anyone who won an Ass Clown award in 2015, or you may write in your own candidate. For your reference, I will publish a full list of 2015 winners in this space tomorrow.

You may cast your vote in the comments section of this or any post between now and 11:55 PM on December 31st, or e-mail your votes to me here.

Let your voice be heard! Cast your votes now for the 2015 Ass Clown of the Year! Vote early! Vote often!

We will name the 2015 Ass Clown of the Year on January 1st, 2016. Be here!

Excellent choice. They have political, economic, environmental and social systems that have rather unfortunate consequences.

I look forward to voting and Chicago Rules are great. We have plenty of choices...
